Message: The shop owner (Al) is so knowledgeable about metal detectors, is up-to-date on the latest technology and has a great sense of humor. His shop has a nice selection of detectors & assessories. HIGHLY recommend shopping at this local gem. The prices are comparable to everything you see online, but the expertise from the shop owner is priceless!

Message: Was in Grand Rapids from out of town and my 9yr old had been asking for a metal detector for months. Researched online and Amazon reviews and found there was no model marketed for kids that reliably got good reviews, suggesting we were just as likely to get a good one as a bad one. So we bought one, and it didn't work. Couldn't believe this came up when I did a map search for detectors, called ahead and drove there. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgable and we went with his recommendation. My son couldn't have been happier, and picked up some of the usual junk at the beach, but also a nickel, and a penny after we got home. Can't thank him enough! There's nothing like this shop anywhere near our home; so lucky to find it.

Message: This is easily one of the best, if not the best, metal detecting shop in the state. Al has been at for a long time and knows his stuff. This place is a real shop, not some online business without a brick and mortar presence. He has a great selection of new and used detectors and gear, and his prices are typically lower than you'll find elsewhere. He also does repairs should you find yourself in need of such a service. I drive an hour and half from north of Lansing to buy from this shop and won't buy a metal detector from anywhere else as long as this shop is open.

Message: I needed an AT Pro to bide me over while my existing one went back to Garrett for repairs (as an aside Garrett is exemplary in how they treat warranty repairs.. you get the VIP treatment--a truly great company with equally great products that they stand behind). I detect daily so I figured having a spare machine made sense in case of future mishaps and being very satisfied with the AT Pro on both land and in the water owning two great machines seemed a no brainer. I called AL and spoke briefly.. could tell from the getgo that he was a great person. I had a 45 minute drive to get there and he was working with an 88 year old gent explaining a detector's functions with patience and in a very informative manner. A full on demonstration ensued.. showing the gent how different materials sounded and answering any questions. The amount of stock on hand is amazing and so too is Al.. a true credit to how a businessman should treat customers. The only stupid question is one that goes unasked! This man is a dream come true in the manner in which he conducts business. I knew what I wanted and made the purchase.. chatted a bit and was very impressed with his honesty and integrity. My only regret is that you are limited to 5 stars when you give a rating. He deserves 6! If you need advice, need a detector or accessories this is the place you need to go. He will be my standby should the need for anything arise and he should be yours as well. Three thumbs

Message: Al has a great selection of new and used detectors. I went in to buy a mid range new model and found a lightly used higher end model for about the same price. The prices are very fair. I just don't like to buy big ticket items online. I need to have them in hand to judge if i like them. And the accessories like diggers, pinpointers and scoops are all quality items.

Message: Pro Stock Metal Detectors is the best place I have been to. I have purchased a few different ones and Al has always taken the time to show me all the features. I plan on getting another one real soon and look forward to doing business with him again. He also has all the accessories you will ever need for a great detector hunt or even if you’re into panning for gold. I’ll always go here!
